Another successful social media campaign is GoPro’s Skateboarding
Cat. GoPro uses the cuteness of a cat to bring in a new audience to their
brand. GoPro is mostly used by adventure sports enthusiast, not people just
wanting to film their cat. By combining the two, skateboarding and cat, they
cover both their usual target market and bring in the new audience of animal
and cat lovers. I have read before that cats are the Kings of the internet.
Everywhere you turn there is a cat video. The video is short and has a cat
riding its owners skateboard in a skate park. Which is pretty impressive that
someone has gotten their cat to do this. But It doesn’t stop there. It shows
the cat seems to actually know what it is doing. He does tricks. The video
shows many different camera angles and different ways a user could use their
GoPro. This is a successful campaign because it has many features. It was run
on the social media platform YouTube. It has likeableness with the cat, and it
shows the versatility of a GoPro and its functions.
