For my last blog, about a bad social media campaign, I chose
BlackBerry. The tweet has since then been deleted. On January 13, 2015,
BlackBerry tweeted a nice photo of their product. It stated “Keep up with the
conversation on twitter” and implied using their BlackBerry to do so. But it
clearly says at the bottom of the post “Twitter for IPhone”. This it poor
social media marketing because they are showing that not even their employees
are using BlackBerrys. As a consumer if the brand that is making a product
cannot even get their employees to use the product then why would I buy it.
This was poor and hurt BlackBerry as other companies and media sources jumped
on it to expose them for what they did even though it was erased.
