As you can see, this post also was from Facebook. This post
was from a popular plus-sized women’s clothing store called Lane Bryant. This
post is not such a great one. They did a great job using a picture with color
and energy to draw the eye of the customer, and used an attractive woman as the
model. The negative side comes in the content of the writing. In a good post, I
expect a question, or something else to grab the reader’s attention and engage
with him/her. In this case, if you read the post it is simply telling you what
she’s wearing and then asking you to buy it. In other terms, their simply using
this social media platform as a way to sell, and make money. From most of their
posts, other ones included, I saw no intent to interact or get customer’s
opinions, which is a major downfall and a huge turnoff as a consumer. Facebook
and twitter can be such great ways to get feedback and address customer
concerns, rather than simply sell items and make profit. Not that I’m an avid
Lane Bryant shopper, but there are some sure fire improvements that need to be
made to their social media presence.
