A successful social media post is this example above
from Chacos, which was posted on July 15, 2016 on the social media platform of
Facebook. A reason this post is a success is because Chacos is following a rule
of engagement for social media marketing in that the brand is conveying a personality.
Through displaying its personality, Chacos is able to establish common ground
among its consumers and establish trust (M. Barker, D. Barker, Bormann,
Roberts, Zahay 74).
Another reason this post is successful is that the
content is relevant and share worthy. The post is targeted towards Chacos’
target audience of the outdoorsy, adventurous “folks”, in which consumers are
inclined to want to share this beautiful scenery in the image with all of their
followers and friends. The picture also draws the customer’s eye, leading to more
engagement ((M. Barker, D. Barker, Bormann, Roberts, Zahay 86).
