Brand Trump vs. Brand Hillary

Donald Trump floods Twitter by posting a total of twelve tweets within the span of a day. While he continues to receive re-tweets and likes on his posts, he creates drama by referring to his opponent as crooked. He also states that his opponent’s chosen V.P. is a job killer. He makes bad jokes such as Pocahontas wanted to be the Vice President but Hillary hates her. These posts on Twitter are unsuccessful in making Donald Trump appear as an upstanding person.

However, this is not a one sided issue. Hillary over posts on Twitter as well. She exceeds Trump’s twelve tweets within a day, but as can be seen with her opponent, Hillary’s Twitter following has not fallen either. Her Twitter site contains less negative posts, but she still takes the occasional opportunity to bash her opponent. Neither candidate represents themselves, through the use of Twitter, as an upstanding person, but rather overly competitive, willing to tear one another down.

Remembering that you are building a brand is important. You are representing yourself and should focus on painting yourself in a good light. Tearing down competitors can look bad for any company. Additionally, each candidate exceeds three to five daily posts. While following does not drop, posting nearly fifteen times in a day is excessive and unnecessary.
