The beauty brand Shea Moisture posted a good example of
social media content to their Facebook page on June 29th. One reason
why the post was proven to be a success is because the content was relevant and
share-worthy to the brand and its target audience (Chapter 5 Part 2 video,
3:24). Shea Moisture’s target audience are women who are into beauty products
and tips, so creating a post about beauty hacks is engaging to the consumer.
Another reason why the post is successful is because it asks the open ended
question, “What’s your beauty hack?” (Chapter 5 Part 2 video, 6:04). The
question relates to the brand and encourages the consumer to interact with a
company. The post also provides Shea Moisture the opportunity to conduct market
research from the consumer’s responses.
