Nike uses athlete Serena Williams and comedian/actor Kevin Hart in
their latest promotional video on Twitter. Many of the videos Nike posts are
serious, about maintaining your drive and pushing to work harder, but this
recent video was lighthearted and funny. They take a break from their serious
tone to focus on making people laugh, building a connection between healthy and happy. This video was successful because it shows
that working out can be fun. It is not all about sore muscles and competition.
In this video, Nike promoted their newest app, Nike Training Club. Kevin Hart
acts as a trainer for Serena Williams, while incorporating some comic relief. The purpose of this short video was to show
that Nike Training Club is fun to use. They were successful in engaging with
customers while creating a happy feeling. This video received 264
re-tweets and 870 likes, as well as sparking conversation among Twitter
followers. This post also links the video to Serena Williams and Kevin Hart's Twitter pages, bringing their followers to engage with Nike as well.
